Individual Sessions
Individual sessions are between a therapist and the individual seeking services. I have experience in working with individuals of all ages, but find that my approach to therapy is best suited for children 10 years of age and above, teens, young adults, and adults. I specialize in addressing the impacts of complex trauma, with a focus on attachment trauma. Often, individual session are centered around exploration of how trauma has impacted an individual’s relationship to self, others, and the larger communities in which they are a part of.
Family Sessions
Family sessions may best meet the needs of individuals who would like to include family members in their healing process. For children and young teens I see family work as a vital part of the therapeutic process. That being said, work between an individual and their caregiver(s) is only facilitated when all parties feel comfortable engaging. Family sessions can take place without a child or teenager being present, and in this case are most often centered around creating a working relationship between therapist and caregiver. For older teens and adults I have experience in incorporating partners and other members of support systems into the therapeutic work.
